What Is The... West Lancs Training Group The group is an employer led group of businesses committed to training their staff at all levels from basic skills to management. Formed in 1981, the members were originally 20 farmers in south and west Lancashire who recognised the need for updating both their own and their employee skills to cope with a changing industry. As other land based industries, from a wider geographical area, recognised the existence of an organisation which could help them access high quality training at affordable prices, the remit of the group was widened. Today the members are diverse; golf clubs, landscape contractors, garden maintenance, racecourses, nurseries, tree surgeons, as well as farmers and growers. Being a member of the group means that there is wider interest from like minded people to fill up courses and make training happen more frequently at a realistic cost. In addition, other land based employers and organisations are available to take advantage of an established training organisation, as and when they need to, without a commitment to membership. they are happy to pay higher rates to satisfy their training needs, as they occur. These employers are of benefit to the Group members because they enable courses to run with maximum numbers. Back To The West Lancs Training Group
