Multi Farmer 30.6 A revolution in farm handling
Three-Point Linkage Multi Farmer has a rear mounted three-point linkage rated at 4300kg. Electro-hydraulic servo assisted lift system with electronic proportional control. The electronic MERlin management system, which monitors all machine functions, permits pre-programming of the raise and lower service:
Two double acting 210 bar services, with float position, are available at the rear, together with electrical connections for trailer lighting. Power Take-Off (PTO) The standard rear PTO has two ratings:
The optional front-mounted PTO has a rated output of 1000 rpm. The hydraulic clutch system is unique - the clutch pressure is infinitely variable, with its value displayed upon the LCD screen. This system guarantees tool protection against shocks or overload.
Towing Trailers and Trailed Equipment Multi Farmer was designed to tow trailers and agricultural trailed equipment, and is omologated in Europe as an Agricultural Tractor capable of travel speeds of up to 40 kph, where permitted by national road regulations. Axles Both axles oscillate and can be locked:
Telescopic Boom Two section boom, of high yield steel, sliding on adjustable anti-wear pads. The extension system is internally mounted to provide maximum protection. Safety Safety received the very highest priority in the design of the Multi Farmer. The longitudinal overload warning system includes both acoustic and visual warning and automatically 'locks-out' any further movement of the boom when the preset stability limit is reached. The oscillating front axle is automatically locked when the boom is raised beyond a preset safety angle. A seat belt is fitted to the operator's seat, and fire extinguisher brackets are fitted in the cab. All boom and levelling hydraulic cylinders are fitted with pilot operated check valves.
MERlin The MERlin system - MERLO Local Integrated Network - was conceived to visually monitor all the machine's functions. The computer is the heart of the system. It registers and records all input and output signals for all the important parts of the machine, such as engine, transmission and electrical system. The operational conditions of these components are constantly shown on the dashboard screen, and their function can always be easily checked. in its recording mode, the system acts as a 'black box' recording all the operator's commands, essential for the safety and performance of the machine. in this way, if it becomes necessary, Merlo engineers can read all the information from a particular working period and reconstruct events leading to the event in question. The advantages of the MERlin system are numerous and obvious:
Failure or malfunction of any component is signalled by an acoustic alarm and an alphanumeric error code. This allows immediate diagnosis of both problem and the required solution. A simple and functional LCD panel replaces the conventional dashboard, presenting the operator with all necessary information. All conventional warning lights are mounted away from the LCD panel, rather than occupying useful digital information space. Tachometer and hour meter can be represented on the LCD panel in either analogue or digital form, the operator can choose.
Cab The cab frame conforms to agricultural tractor regulations and ISO 3471 (ROPS) and ISO 3449 (FOPS) standards. Both front and rear windows can be opened for ventilation. Single lever "4 in 1" joystick control. Two section door. Air conditioning as standard on Comfort and Comfort+. The seat, able to rotate through 20 degrees, together with the side mounting of the cabin, allows the driver a most important slewed position - necessary to control the rear mounted equipment. Equipment Carriage The front-mounted equipment carriage permits the use of numerous attachments. The 'Tac-Lock' hydraulic attachment locking system allows instant locking/unlocking of attachments, controlled from the cab. Two hydraulic service lines are supplied to the carriage, permitting the use of double-acting hydraulics. Motor An exclusive feature of the engine mounting is its ability to swing out from the machine, giving very easy access for maintenance. The four cylinder, water-cooled, turbo diesel engine is rated at 84 kW (114HP) at 2400 rpm. Steering All four driven wheels are steered. Three steering modes are operator selectable, with automatic resynchronisation in the case of misalignment:
Hydrostatic Transmission The two range hydrostatic transmission ensures a smooth and continuous speed range from zero to the maximum road speed, simply by use of the accelerator pedal. The synchronised 'Shift-on-the-Go' range gearbox is electronically controlled to0 ensure a smooth change on the move. Transmission is permanent four wheel drive, through two portal-type axles guaranteeing an exceptional ground clearance. Motion Control Push button speed control allows the forward speed to be regulated, from zero up to the maximum road speed, quite independent of the engine speed. This system, which can be used in both speed ranges, permits:
A genuine 'Inching Control' system permits a controlled temporary forward speed reduction during loading operations, when engine power is needed to maintain high boom lifting speed or bucket tearout. It can also be used for precision control of forward movement e.g. for precisely placing loads or when attaching trailers or equipment. The column-mounted 'Finger-Touch' forward/reverse control permits the driver to instantly change direction on the move, without requiring a hand to be removed from the steering wheel, independent of forward speed or gear range.
