KM Turbo mowers are manufactured in Poland by the Samasz company. Samasz has specialised in the manufacture of mowers since becoming a licensee of the Fahr company. They have since refined and developed their drum mower range and subsequently obtained the DIN EN745 Standard. The safety curtains are DLG tested (Cert No 2002-107) which has led to the company becoming a market leader in Germany. Here in the UK substantial quantities of all three models have been sold over a number of years and have found them to be very reliable performers.
A high quality PTO shaft rated at 400Nm on the KM22 and KM24 (540Nm on the top of the range KM25) provides the primary drive to a 4-groove cast iron drive pulley. The pulley incorporates an over-run clutch to protect the tractor. The four 'Vee' drive belts transmit power to the oil immersed drive shafts/gears which drive the mower's twin drums. The heavy duty trough is sealed to prevent the ingress of dirt.
The headstock is constructed from heavy duty rectangular section tube with reinforced corners for maximum strength. A PTO shaft rest hook is also provided together with a robust parking stand. The Cat II bolt on lower link arm pins are replaceable.
An automatic breakaway device provides impact protection to the mowers in the event of striking an immovable object.
The knives are reversible and can be quickly changed using the tool provided. The tension on the four 'Vee' drive belts can be uniformly adjusted by means of the spring loaded tensioner.
The mowers are easily moved from the work to transport position by releasing the breakaway device pin and manually moving the mower rearwards through 90 degrees until the safety latch engages. A quick release lanyard enables the reverse operation to occur.
