Amazone ZA-M

Stress Free Fertiliser Spreading

This is only possible with a fertiliser broadcaster on which one can fully rely and of which the operation should be easy with just a few simple settings to ensure an optimum lateral distribution with all fertilisers. A long life expectancy of the implement helps save both the environment and the cost. The manufacture in large series production ensures that the broadcaster provides value for money.

There is a suitable model of ZA-M for any farm size or contractor use and during both normal and border spreading they all adhere to the strict regulations demanded by the European Fertiliser Application Advice.

Always A Uniform Spread Pattern

Amazone achieves this using the Omina-Set spreading system where the two spreading discs are equipped with two simple to set spreading vanes. All settings can be adjusted without tools and on the field margins the "Limiter" border spread device lowered into operation from the tractor cab. The Limiter guides the fertiliser flow specifically to the border.

Long Life Expectancy

The new painting procedure for the hopper and frame and with the hopper bottoms, metering systems, spreading discs and vanes made from stainless steel guarantee the ZA-M a long life. The entire spreading units are guarded with an over sized stainless steel cover to protect both the broadcaster and the tractor.

Even after many years of use a good resale value of the used broadcaster is assured to help towards the purchase of a new Amazone broadcaster.

Experience Counts

Amazone, a family company, have manufactured fertiliser broadcasters for 85 years and have produced in this period over 1 million spreaders. The first three point linkage twin disc spreader was developed by Amazone in 1958. The ZA is, worldwide, the most sold disc spreader of all times and even today maintains the position of market leader in Germany.

Working Widths From 10 to 36 metres

Hopper Capacities From 1000 to 3000 litres

Standard Features on the ZA-M:

The twin hopper tip design results in a low filling height (from 98 cm) yet maintains a steep hopper wall angle. This ensures an even flow of fertiliser to the openings even on slopes and reduces the residual amount of fertiliser left in the bottom. Also the reliability of the flow from the two individual outlets of the double hopper can be continuously monitored against blockage.

The heavy duty agitators sweep across the discharge opening and provide a very even fertiliser flow. The round and slowly rotating (196 rpm) spiral agitators gently deliver the fertiliser evenly without any granule damage. The specific shape of the stainless steel hopper tip results in very little fertiliser remaining.

The infinitely variable speed rate setting is carried out on the two individual shutter slides on the back of the spreader. The large over dimensioned setting scales are positioned side by side and are located away from any dirt from the tractor wheels or from the spreading discs. The robust plastic setting levers are simply moved against the clear easy to read scales.

The hydraulic single shutter remote control provides individual operation of the right and left hand side shutters. half side shut off is then possible for wedge shaped field ends or for headland spreading using the border spread defector plate. For tractors with just one hydraulic connection a selection of useful multi-port valves are available as an option.

The Omnia-Set-spreading discs which rotate at a low, constant speed of 720 rpm give a high acceleration of the fertiliser without any granule damage. The feed-on point of the fertiliser is close to the disc centre so that the acceleration forces are reduced and even sensitive fertilisers are not smashed.

The twin folding sieves are especially important for bulk fertilisers filled with a loader or bucket. Foreign objects, stones, fertiliser lumps, etc can then be prevented from entering the spreading system.

With the aid of the calibration kit it is simple to determine the accurate setting for the desired spread rate. The calibration test may be conducted stationary or by driving over a calibration distance.

The spread rate can be easily found after just one calibration check and then using the calculator disc rule supplied with each machine the setting for the desired spread rate can be simply read off.

Optional Features on the ZA-M:

The robust rolling device eases the process of mounting the spreader on to the tractor and storage after spreading, the individual wheels being simply removed during work. Mounting is made even more convenient by using the "Tele-Space" telescopic PTO shaft.

The folding hopper cover ensures dry spreading material when spreading in catchy weather. For filling the hopper cover is just folded upwards. The traffic light kit with warning plates provides the necessary traffic safety precautions.

The four, six or eight row band spreading device for under leaf fertilising of maize or similar crops. The outlets can be set to match different row spacings. With this option the fertiliser is utilised by the crop and not wasted on bare ground.
