Amazone Rotary Harrow KE The KE rotary harrow is optimally suited for the work following the plough and on cultivated soil. The frame sits high off the ground and the absolutely smooth trough bottom and the long tines result in a large underbelly clearance ensuring an optimum soil and trash passage. Working Widths 2.5, 3 and 4 metres, Super rotary harrow 3 and 4 metres The large clearance above the rotor heads ensures the free passage of trash even when the tines are heavily worn. This also helps prevent a bulldozing effect in undulating terrain or trashy conditions. The round, high grade steel rotor heads prevent stones being trapped in between.
Strong rotor head, the rotor shaft and tine carrier is forged in one piece from high grade steel. The rotary shaft is provided with bearings with the optimum bearing spacing. The combination of special cassette seals against oil leakage and labyrinth seals to prevent the ingress of plant take the highest toil.
The tine sprung fixing allows the tines to give way when hitting stones. The tines are held positively inside a socket in the rotor head centre. The swaged out end of the socket allows the flex of the horizontal part of the tine. This elasticity of the tine means that much of the shock loading is absorbed when the tip of the tine hits a stone.
The tines are simply slid into the socket of the tine carrier and secured by a clevis pin and lynch pin. There is no simpler or quicker way with no fixing bolts that have to be retightened. This tine fixing has been patented on AMAZONE rotary harrows and rotary cultivators. The forged tines made from special hardened steel are elastic and wear resistant.
The strong frame made from 6 mm steel has a double skinned trough bottom and welded bearing bushes. These features ensure a very high torsion resistance making the machine the ideal harrow for use in combination with heavy packer rollers and pack top seed drills.
Side plates prevent soil from ridging at the sides. These are sprung mounted to ride past obstacles. Swivelable side plates are available as an option. The levelling bar following the soil tillage implements provides the pre-conditions for the even re-consolidation of the soil by the following roller.
The working depth of the rotary harrow can be set by re-inserting and twisting the AMAZONE eccentric pins. During operation the roller carrying arms push up underneath the eccentric pins transferring the weight of the power harrow onto the roller yet when the power harrow is lifted the roller can drop allowing the arm to be carried on the gearbox trough. Thus the rotary harrow can jump over stones without the necessity to lift the roller or the seed drill saving both tine breakage and preventing damage to the drive line.
