Amazone Rotary Cultivator KG

The heavy duty KG Rotary Cultivator always maintains a constant working depth, even on heavy soil. The "On Grip" tines pull themselves into work. The "On Grip" tines break the soil clods from underneath, irrespective of whether the soil before has been ploughed, cultivated or is untilled. No smearing horizon.

Working Widths 3, 4 and 5 metres mounted, 4, 5 and 6 metres foldable

The large clearance above the rotor heads ensures the free passage of trash even when the tines are heavily worn. This also helps to prevent a bulldozing effect in undulating terrain or trash conditions. The round, high grade steel rotor heads prevent stones being trapped in between.

Strong rotor head, the rotor shaft and tine carrier is forged in one piece from high grade steel. The rotary shaft is provided with bearings with the optimum bearing spacing. The combination of special cassette seals against oil leakage and labyrinth seals to prevent the ingress of plant take the highest toil.

The tine sprung fixing allows the tines to give way when hitting stones. The tines are held positively inside a socket in the rotor head centre. The swaged out end of the socket allows the flex of the horizontal part of the tine. This elasticity of the tine means that much of the shock loading is absorbed when the tip of the tine hits a stone.

The tines are simply slid into the socket of the tine carrier and secured by a clevis pin and lynch pin. There is no simpler or quicker way with no fixing bolts that have to be retightened. This tine fixing has been patented on AMAZONE rotary harrows and rotary cultivators. The forged tines made from special hardened steel are elastic and wear resistant.

The strong frame is manufactured from 8 mm steel, has a double skinned trough bottom and welded bearing bushes. These features ensure a very high torsion resistance making them the ideal harrow for use in combination with heavy packer rollers and pack top seed drills.

The superior consolidating effect of the rotary cultivator with its packer roller is due to the weight of the packer roller, the weight of the rotary cultivator and the force exerted by the tines dragging the rotary cultivator into the soil.

The AMAZONE rotary cultivator always maintains a constant working depth irrespective of whether the soil before has been ploughed, cultivated or is un-tilled thanks to the "On Grip" tine position that pulls the tines into work. "On grip" tines lift the soil upwards to avoiding smearing horizons. Coarse soil particles are thrown further than fine particles and thus the fine soil remains in the lower level of the worked soil profile, whereas the coarser clods remain on the surface. The seed is then placed into the area with the finer soil particles. The larger particles on the surface protect the seedbed from capping, drying out, wind and water erosion and give shade to the young plants. In this way optimum conditions for a good germination are provided.

The "on grip" tines throw the soil along in front of the cultivator helping to level all undulations including also the tractor wheel marks. The swivelable side plates prevent soil from ridging at the sides. They are spring mounted to ride past obstacles. The levelling bar in the rear of the soil tillage implements provides the pre-conditions for an even re-compaction of the soil by the following roller.

Working depth can be controlled by reinserting and twisting the proven AMAZONE square eccentric pins. During operation the carrying arm is located underneath the eccentric pin and when lifted it rests on the trough gear. In this way the rotary cultivator can jump over stones without the necessity to raise the roller and the seed drill.  This saves tines and drive elements.
